New Designer Boutique Hotel to Open in Hong Kong This Autumn
HONG KONG, Jun 13, 2006 - With abstract interiors, make-believe gatekeepers and
the most high tech features of any hotel in the region, The Luxe Manor will open
on Kimberley Road in autumn 2006 as Kowloon’s first designer boutique hotel.
The new luxury hotel features a “surreal” concept and design: a modern
reinterpretation of a European mansion featuring mythical characters within its
architecture and design elements which recall the works of the twentieth century
surrealists.
Designed to appeal to a uniquely stylish segment of luxury leisure and business
travellers, the 14 floor, 159 room property -- in the buzzing dining and entertainment
district of Knutsford Terrace in Tsim Sha Tsui -- is to be "where the surreal
slumber."
The Luxe Manor is designed by Aedas Interiors' renowned Hong Kong designer, David
Buffery, whose other projects include FINDS Scandinavian restaurant in Lan Kwai
Fong and the newly opened LOTUS on Pottinger Street.
Decorated with European antiques and modern pieces, The Luxe Manor will offer
colourful, splendid European architecture with an oriental touch.
The hotel's recently appointed General Manager, Allan Strahle stated, "The Luxe Manor will fill a niche for both business and leisure travellers that wish to be stimulated by their surroundings. It will offer all of the amenities and services required and desired - within a space that engages the imagination."
The boutique hotel's unique design is quirky and fun, yet comfortably stylish. Playing with illusion - where reality meets fiction and tradition meets modernity -- the standard room design emulates and interprets the grandness of an antique bedroom filled with family heirlooms. Meanwhile, the television is placed within a framed mirror with the equipment stowed in a faux fireplace.
Of the 159 rooms, six theme suites, reigning in individuality, take the overall design scheme even further: one features a nest-like circular bed; another, a Bedouin tent; and a third is super-glamorous with mirrored wallpaper. These suites are certain to become the most innovative themed guest rooms in Hong Kong.
The Luxe Manor will also offer two exciting new restaurants run by some of Hong Kong's leading restaurant operators. And, a master of Italian haute cuisine, recently flown in from Europe, is poised to offer a glimpse of the culinary delights of Italy.
The Luxe Manor will also provide a business centre with full secretarial services, Library & Gallery, Mini-gym and Meeting and Break out rooms.
Advanced technology is another facet of the hotel's many features, which have been designed by IT Guru, Terence Ronson of Pertlink. These include NxTV's Interactive Infotainment System viewable through an LCD Flat Panel TV; High Definition video-on-demand; wireless VoIP telephony; and wireless broadband internet access throughout the hotel.
Additional in-room features include luxurious bath products, a digital in-room safe, mini bar, designer tea and coffee set, sleek contemporary bathrooms with rain showers and a secure key card system for the lifts and guest rooms.
The Luxe Manor is owned and operated by GR8 Leisure Concept, a Hong Kong hospitality group, and is set to open in autumn 2006.
