NxTV's Global Expansion Surges Forward; European and Asian Subsidiaries Sign
Key Contracts
LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) - NxTV, Inc., the leading provider
of digital and high-definition (HD) in-room entertainment, voice and data services
to luxury hotels worldwide, has greatly expanded its global footprint in recent
months. The company's subsidiaries in Europe and Asia, both opened in 2005, have
recently signed and will soon announce several key contracts in their territories.
These new contracts build upon NxTV's strong presence throughout the United States
and Canada, adding properties in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean
to the company's rapidly-growing portfolio of 50,000 upscale hotel rooms throughout
the world.
NxTV's Asian subsidiary completed its first installation in Asia, the Four Seasons Hong Kong, in the fall. Earlier this year, that office, based in Hong Kong, inked deals with the Langham Place Hotel and the Luxe Manor and is aggressively pursuing a number of signature properties elsewhere in the region, including Macau, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
In Europe, NxTV's London-based subsidiary has also enjoyed great success this year, signing deals with the Ambassadors Hotel and the Four Seasons Canary Wharf in London, as well as with the legendary Four Seasons George V Paris. With these prestigious locations under contract, NxTV looks to further expand its presence throughout the UK and continental Europe in the coming months.
With installations in Mexico and Costa Rica, NxTV is establishing a solid presence in Latin America, as well. In early 2006, the company completed the installation of a large-scale system serving 2,000 rooms at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas, adding to NxTV's portfolio a major showcase property in the Caribbean.
In addition, the company recently opened an office in New York. This new office complements the robust presence NxTV already has in cities on the East Coast, including New York, Washington DC, Boston, Montreal and Miami, giving the company an even stronger foothold in the region.
Further strengthening the worldwide reach of NxTV, the company has licensing agreements with NTT East and Cable & Wireless to provide its services in Japan and the Caribbean, respectively. Through these partnerships, NxTV has also added to its impressive customer base several of Tokyo's most celebrated hotels, as well as three resort properties in St. Lucia.
NxTV's superior global capabilities are powered by its advanced IP-over-Ethernet platform. This technology allows NxTV to remotely manage for its customers throughout the world all content distribution, system monitoring and software upgrades from a central network operations center. Furthermore, the system is highly scalable. With its 100% digital IP network, NxTV's "triple-play" services are available to all rooms at all times, irrespective of the size or location of the property.
"As NxTV continues its global growth, we are committed to the goal of making the world's great hotels even better. Therefore, we have made it a priority to ensure that our solution has both the flexibility and scalability to suit the needs of many different customers," said James Miles, President & CEO of NxTV, Inc. "The NxTV system is a perfect fit for any type of luxury hotel or resort."
NxTV is owned by The Pivotal Group, an investment company with a $2 billion portfolio of real estate, hotel and technology assets, including The Promontory in Salt Lake City and Internet domain registrar Network Solutions, Inc. which Pivotal recently purchased from VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN). NxTV will be exhibiting its services at booth #720 at the HITEC show in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 20-22, 2006.
