Engineer
Job Summary
Position is required to work in the R&D team and
provide software development and technical support to multiple customer
sets including the company's customer support, operations team, field support,
and internal development. Responsible for interfacing with all customer
groups, trouble shooting, developing product enhancements, and solving
issues related to software, database, or systems. Position must ensure
timely resolution of issues and appropriate escalation of the same to
Development, QA and Management.
Job Description
Provide software development and support for successful delivery and maintenance of embedded, application, and server software to manage systems that deliver video, entertainment, and IP-based services for the next generation of in-room entertainment systems targeted to the domestic and international markets. Systems must be complete, robust, supportable, and highly available. Responsibilities include:
- Gaining technical proficiency for complete system to expert-level in all details of software
- Developing software for feature enhancements and new system solutions
- Managing overall releases and documentation process
- Providing internal Linux system support
- Creating Knowledge base, FAQ, data mining database and user interface
- Work with other department leaders to understand their operational needs and strategies in an effort to optimize cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications
More than 4 years of software and system development experience in a systems level company with experience in managing application development, tracking bugs, software maintenance and releases, working with QA, customer service and other functions.
- Solid background with software design and system engineering
- Strong skills in C and C++ with Linux/Windows environment
- Extensive experience with device drivers, system level design, and Linux application development
- Experience with video system, MPEG, database and SQL a plus
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of problem management tools and customer service skills
- Must be able to multi task and prioritize workload to solve problems quickly
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Self-starter that is capable of creative and innovative problem solving
BS in CS/EE/CE or technical equivalent required, MS in EE/CS desired.
