The candidate will be responsible for central and remote
Windows and Linux infrastructure servers. This role will be a mixture
of implementation, operations support and training of other IT staff.
The individual must be able to collaborate and/or take lead toward enterprise
Linux administration and systems improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities
IT Tier II support for 300+ Linux and Windows servers.
Train IT Tier I engineers toward Linux troubleshooting and frontline
support.
Collaborate with other team members to improve systems monitoring
and management tools.
Plan and rollout enterprise administration toward server account
management and access control.
Secure server infrastructure toward alerting and change management/control.
Implement an enterprise systems update server for all Enterprise
systems.
Build scripting tools for mass modification and general administration.
Streamline server installations by improving automation and systems
process.
Streamline embedded Linux upgrades and server updates.
Document systems standards and NxTV centric administration.
Experience and Requirements
Technical
General scripting (Perl, WMI, Shell scripting, Expect (answer scripts), etc.
5+ years experience toward general systems administration.
3+ years experience toward Linux server administration.
Redhat Enterprise Server experience.
Windows Server in an Enterprise environment.
Server networking services.
Linux routing and filtering fundamentals - a plus.
Strong IP networking concepts.
General security toolsets.
Embedded systems support - a plus.
High availability and implementation - a plus.
