EMG works closely with media companies across many digital platforms, but we wanted to
focus this section on one area that is showing explosive growth — online. We will be
listing the 50 people most influencing the creation and distribution of content online and
linking you to the companies that they represent.

The Hollywood Reporter's recent Digital Power issue highlighted the Top 50 individuals and companies plotting the course for content on emerging digital platforms. They profiled the gatekeepers at the Web portals, the top execs reshaping the online distribution landscape and the stewards reinventing brands we already know — and creating new ones for the digital era.

"Digital" gets overused a lot these days, but for this Top 50 list, we are referring to online content, not DVD, mobile, VOD or video games. And this list isn't for the Rupert Murdoch's or the Steve Job's of this world, but for the executives whom the moguls rely on to make good on their mandates for digital content revenues.
